Gareth Holden and Cllr. Ed Bridges have been working with residents for a sensible compromise on the future of the Briardene site on North Road.
A decision has finally been made on the future of the former road safety centre at Briardene on North Road, following a long campaign by local Lib Dems.
An outline planning application has sought permission to build 48 flats on the site. The application was formally considered last week by Cardiff Council's Planning Committee. Cllr. Ed Bridges attended the meeting to ensure that residents' views were put forward.
Following a lengthy planning process, the application was granted - but with several key concessions:
Local campaigner, Gareth Holden, said: "The site will now be sold to a developer, who will have to come up with their own detailed plans for the site. As always, we will keep residents posted on the latest news on the future of the site. For now, however, we are very pleased that the views of residents have been taken on board."
