Tackling local parking problems

Cllrs. Ed Bridges and Cathy Pearcy are working to address parking issues around Clodien Avenue.
The Focus Team have been working hard to address parking problems in the streets around Allensbank House.
Cllr. Ed Bridges met last month with management from Liberty Living (who run the halls) to reiterate the frustration of local residents. Problems are frequently caused by tenants from the halls parking on local streets, in contravention of the planning permission for the site.
Ed told us: "Liberty Living have been co-operative. They are experimenting with making some of the parking spaces on their site available to tenants with specific transport needs. They are also emphasising to their remaining tenants that they are not allowed to park within 3km of the site."
Your local councillors have also been calling for better cycling provision in the area to provide an alternative to cars. They have suggested that an OY Bike cycle rental stand should be located at the Heath Hospital, and have also suggested better cycle lanes for Allensbank Road and nearby streets.
