More plans for the former Brandon Hire shop in Lon Y Groes

Fenella and John Dixon study the plans for the former Brandon Hire shopCllr Fenella Bowden has been notified of yet more plans for developing the former Brandon Hire Shop on the corner of Lon y Groes and Caerphilly Road.

The new plans propose that the building is converted into a Letting Agency, with a first floor flat above. Plans for a retail outlet were approved by the Planning Committee some months ago, with a commitment from the developer to pay the Council for the reconfiguring of the pedestrian central island in Lon y Groes. Fenella said 'This is now the third set of plans that have been put forward by the developer. Residents have always been concerned that a retail outlet would cause problems with deliveries; parking; and possible anti-social behaviour. The plans for a letting agency may be preferable to local people, and I am consulting with local residents on their views'.

Details of the plans can be obtained from Development Control at the Council or from Fenella. Do let her have any comments that you would like to make on the proposals.
