Residents in Mynachdy opposed a previous application for flats on the old coal yard site back in 2006.
Fierce local opposition has grown in response to plans for 345 student flats on land behind Mynachdy Road.
An application has been lodged to build 23 blocks of flats on the site. As well as the sheer quantity of flats being considered, people are also concerned that the proposed three-storey units will overlook neighbouring houses. The plans also show just 27 car parking spaces for the whole site!
Local councillor, Ed Bridges, has condemned the proposals and is urging residents to make their views known. Residents can sign the online petition and send in detailed comments on the plans.
Cllr. Ed Bridges said: "We worked extremely hard to oppose the last set of plans for the site back in 2006, and we are even more determined to get these new proposals rejected. I will do all I can to oppose this application"
