Gabalfa councillors, Cathy Pearcy and Ed Bridges, believe the new parking regulations in Cardiff will help to reduce congestion.
More traffic wardens will be hitting the streets of Cardiff, thanks to the city's Liberal Democrat council.
From 5th July, the Council will take over responsibility for parking enforcement from the Police - and one of the first changes will be an increase in the number of parking attendants.
The Police will still continue to play a role in parking enforcement, particularly in relation to dangerous parking and obstructive parking, but it will be the Council who will take primary responsibility for enforcing residents-only bays. The Council are also reviewing its parking policies with a view to increasing the amount of residents-only parking in areas where there is a string need.
Gabalfa councillor, Cathy Pearcy, said: "This is a response to the long-standing need for better parking enforcement in our area. I hope that the new system will help to reduce parking congestion in Gabalfa ward."
