Cllr. Cathy Pearcy and John Dixon are opposing plans to close Cathays Police Station.
Cardiff Liberal Democrats are furious at the news that South Wales Police will close four central Cardiff police stations to save money.
Under police plans, Roath, Cathays, Canton and Grangetown police stations will be permanently closed and sold off.
The news comes just days after the Cardiff Liberal Democrats released figures showing that South Wales Police is the most consistently under-funded police force in the UK.
Cardiff Central MP Jenny Willott said, "I am astonished at the news. South Wales Police faces huge pressures but this is completely unacceptable".
Cardiff North Campaigner John Dixon added, "I am furious. This leaves out communities with reduced police cover and potential for a rise in crime".
The Cardiff Liberal Democrats have revealed some shocking figures, showing South Wales Police as the police force most consistently under funded by Labour in the UK.
Since 2000, South Wales Police received an increase in funding from the Labour Government of just 15%.
The average increase for all police forces was 37%.
If South Wales Police had received an average increase it would now have an extra £18.25 million.
The Cardiff Liberal Democrats are calling on the Chief Constable of South Wales Police to keep our police stations open, and for the Labour Government to provide more funding to avoid such closures.
