Cllr. Cathy Pearcy and Cllr. Ed Bridges are pleased that the tennis court area at Maindy will soon be upgraded under plans by Cardiff's Liberal Democrat Council.
Local Liberal Democrats have secured an agreement to improve the tennis court area at Maindy.
The tennis courts behind the park on Gelligaer Street will now be upgraded, thanks to a successful bid for funding by local councillors. Pupils at Cathays High and other local schools will play a role in the design of the upgraded facility. The improvements are expected to be completed by March next year.
Gabalfa councillor, Cathy Pearcy, said: "Currently this pitch floods and is not well used. We hope to see a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and 5-a-side football pitch on the site."
Cllr. Ed Bridges added: "This is great news for local schools. To have an extra facility which they can use to promote sport and keep fit is really welcome."
