Gabalfa Lib Dems working to ease local parking problems

Gabalfa's Lib Dem councillors, Ed Bridges and Cathy Pearcy, are hopeful that parking problems caused by tenants of Allensbank House will be less severe this year.
The Gabalfa Focus Team have been working hard to ease parking problems on the streets near to Allensbank House.
Local parking congestion has been intensified in recent years by tenants from the halls parking on nearby streets, in contravention of the site's planning permission.
However, following meetings between local Lib Dem councillors and Liberty Living (who run the halls), an action plan has been agreed to tackle the problem over the coming academic year.
Local Lib Dem councillor, Cathy Pearcy, said: "The agreement will see some parking made available on the Allensbank House site on a trial basis to see if this helps ease the problems. The Council and Liberty Living will also be working together to speak with any tenants found to be parking on neighbouring streets."
The Focus Team will be watching closely to see whether the new arrangements help over the coming months.
