New filter light planned for Allensbank Road junction

Cllr. Ed Bridges and Cllr. Fenella Bowden are pleased that Cardiff's Lib Dem council are taking steps to make the junction at Allensbank Road and UHW safer.

Liberal Democrat councillors in Heath and Gabalfa have secured an agreement for Cardiff Council for a filter light at the junction between Allensbank Road and Heath Hospital.

The junction can get congested at busy times, and the Lib Dems were successful with a recent request for traffic signals to be reviewed in the area.

Heath councillor, Fenella Bowden, said: "We were pleased to get this sorted for residents and hospital workers who were concerned over safety at the junction."

Cllr. Ed Bridges, who represents Gabalfa ward, added: "There have been a few near-misses at the junction as cars have tried to turn right into UHW, so hopefully this filter light will allow more time for motorists and make things safer."
