Ed Bridges has hit out at news that two Conservative AMs spent a total of £398 on iPods on expenses paid for by the taxpayer.
Liberal Democrats in Cardiff North have described as 'disgraceful' the news that two Conservative Assembly Members claimed iPods on expenses, funded by the taxpayer.
The Conservative leader in the Welsh Assembly, and one of his Tory colleagues, spent a combined total of £398 on the iPods as part of their 'office costs'.
Ed Bridges, Liberal Democrat Welsh Assembly spokesman for Cardiff North, said: "This is a disgraceful waste of public money, and taxpayers are rightly angry that these luxury items were claimed as expenses."
Conservative AMs also claimed for £119 on a trouser press, £977 on an LCD television and £343 on a camera.
Cllr. Bridges added: "During the four and a half years I have been a councillor in Cardiff, I have never claimed a penny in expenses - not even for travel or for postage, because public servants have a duty to be frugal out of consideration for the taxpayer. To see Tory Assembly Members making expense claims for luxury items and the taxpayer footing the bill is absolutely sickening."
