Thumbs-down to Mynachdy development: Cllr. Ed Bridges wants answers on developers' plans for the old coal yard behind Mynachdy Road.
The Gabalfa Liberal Democrat Focus Team is demanding answers on what developers have planned for the old coal yard site behind Mynachdy Road.
Residents in the area will remember that an outline planning application for the site was eventually granted in February, despite opposition from local Lib Dems. Since then, developers have been silent on the issue, and no detailed plan has yet been submitted.
Many residents in Mynachdy joined the Lib Dem Focus Team in opposing plans for the coal yard development last year.
Local councillor, Cathy Pearcy, said: "Many of us had concerns over the original plan, and we were able to get the height of the units reduced and get them set further back from existing houses - we even got the developer to agree to put in a playground on the site. But no detailed plans have come forward, and residents understandably want to know what is happening with the site."
Cllr. Ed Bridges, who opposed the original plan, added: "The Lib Dems will continue to work on behalf of residents on this issue. I think the developer should publish the detailed plans and give residents the chance to have their say on the issue. The silence is unhelpful and distressing for residents who aren't being told what's happening."
