John Dixon and Cllr. Jim James are proud of the Lib Dems' record on keeping Cardiff's Council Tax bills down.

Liberal Democrats in Cardiff North have been hitting the streets to highlight the record of the Lib Dem council administration in keeping Council Tax down. The average increase since the Lib Dems took control of has been just 2.9% - the lowest in the whole of Wales.

Lib Dems in Heath recently ran a very successful street stall to spread the good news amongst voters. John Dixon, Cardiff North's PPC and Executive Member for Health & Wellbeing on Cardiff Council, said: "The Lib Dems in Cardiff have worked hard to cut out waste to keep bills as small as possible. It was a pleasure to hit the streets and tell people about how we've cut special responsibility allowances to improve services - and it's a message voters respect."

When Labour were in charge of Cardiff Council, they increased Council Tax by an average of 11%. If this rise had continued, Band D Council Tax would be a staggering £242 higher than it is now!

Heath councillor, Jim James, added: "We've invested heavily in key services - there are now free recycling collections for every house in the city, more Police Community Support Officers on the street and more community street cleaners - and we've done it all while still keeping Council Tax rises to a minimum."
