Cllr. Ed Bridges has been inspecting back lanes in Gabalfa ward to report items of fly-tipped rubbish.
The Gabalfa Lib Dem Focus Team has been working hard over the last week to get local back lanes tidied and fly-tipped rubbish removed.
At a recent PACT meeting, concern was expressed over recent bouts of fly-tipping and the general condition of the lanes, so local Lib Dem councillors have been getting to work!
Cllr. Ed Bridges spent a fruitful few hours last weekend going round the ward on his bike, taking photos of all the piles of rubbish which needed removing, and reported them all to the council. Since then, nearly all the rubbish has been removed and the lanes swept.
Ed told us: "I use the lanes regularly when I'm on my bike, and was horrified by the amount of rubbish which had been dumped. I'm pleased to have got the rubbish removed, but I also want the council to sweep the rear lanes much more regularly and will be speaking with them to try and get that achieved. At the end of the day though, it is people who drop litter and not the council, and the best way to beat the problem is for all local residents to keep an eye open so we can take action against the idiots who use our lanes as their own rubbish tip."
If YOU know of any areas affected by fly-tipping, do get in touch so your local Lib Dem team can help!
