Thumbs-up to Flaxland Allotment success: Cllr. Ed Bridges and Cllr. Cathy Pearcy believe Flaxland Allotments are going from strength to strength.
Many residents in Gabalfa ward might already be aware of plans for an Open Day at Flaxland Allotments next month.
The Allotment Association is holding the event on Saturday 18th August from 2pm and all local residents are encouraged to come along and learn more about the facility.
Local Lib Dem councillor, Cathy Pearcy, said: "I'm sure the open day will be a huge success and will demonstrate to local residents what an asset the allotments are to our community."
Meanwhile, Gabalfa's Liberal Democrat councillors have also been working to get fences at the allotment site upgraded. At a recent PACT meeting, concern was expressed over some of the damaged fences - but after Cllr. Ed Bridges took up the issue, the council has agreed to carry out repairs to the affected areas of fence by the end of July.
Ed told us: "We're proud of our parks and open spaces and want to make sure they can thrive. Cathy and I have worked hard to get our open spaces improved, and these repairs will no doubt help make the allotments more user-friendly."
