The Welsh Liberal Democrats have pledged to oppose Labour's plans to introduce a new generation of nuclear power stations.
Local Assembly candidate, Cllr. Ed Bridges, has given the 'thumbs-up' to green energy.
Cardiff North's Lib Dem Assembly candidate, Cllr. Ed Bridges, said: "We're serious about making Wales greener. We start that by saying 'no' to new nuclear power in Wales."
Ed is also calling on Cardiff Council to assert its opposition to nuclear power in the region. He told Focus: "We must reject new nuclear power if we are serious about developing safe, clean and green energy. The risk of nuclear waste being dumped across Wales is a toxic treasure trove that Tony Blair seems determined to leave as a legacy for future generations."
Local campaigner, John Dixon, added: "The Lib Dems believe the Welsh Assembly should have the power to make planning decisions on large-scale energy developments such as nuclear power stations. We need to reject nuclear power and concentrate on turning Wales into a green powerhouse."
