Cllr. Jim James, Cllr. Michelle Michaelis and Assembly candidate Ed Bridges have welcomed the start of work at the Maes-y-Coed Community Centre games area.
The Heath Focus Team has welcomed the start of work by Cardiff's Liberal Democrat council on the promised Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) by the Maes-y-Coed Community Centre.
This fenced and floodlit area will provide a pitch for organised games such as 5-a-side football. The lighting is designed to avoid unwanted glare. Activities will be supervised by Council Staff and close at 9pm.
Local Councillor Jim James said: "We believe this is now growing into an exciting centre with varied activities throughout the week, and will be one more step towards providing much-needed facilities for all ages in our community."
Ed Bridges, Lib Dem Assembly candidate for Cardiff North, added: "This work by the council will help breathe new life into our area. It's wonderful news."
